Our Plan

Our plan restores the Worthington Meeting House as a vibrant community gathering place. We will preserve its historic character while creating a flexible home for arts, public events, and a local history museum.

The History

Built in 1774, the Worthington Meeting House has served for generations as a place of worship, civic life, education, and community. It is one of Connecticut’s oldest surviving meeting houses.

Our Mission

The mission of the Friends of Worthington Meeting House (FOWMH), a 501(c)3 organization, is to ensure the continued restoration and preservation of the 1774 Worthington Meeting House, and to promote its use as a cultural and history center providing educational and social opportunities for the community.

Our Vision
  • Community Cultural Center for the Town of Berlin

  • New home for Berlin Historical Society Museum

  • Space for meetings, lectures, music and art programs

  • Space for social events 

  • A unique attraction that will be an economic draw for Berlin

  • Expanded green space for outdoor events

  • Reuse of one of Berlin’s last historic public buildings
